September 26, 2011 as Filipino Family Day

"September 26, 2011 as Filipino Family Day - Mark your calendars and now pledge to eat dinner with the family"

It was 3 years ago since Lucky Me launced the First National FaMealy  Day - Araw ng Pagkilala na Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga. And has become a nationwide call to celebrate dining every 4th Monday of September as supported through Memorandum signed between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the National Committee for Filipino Families (NCFF).

September 30, 2009, Presidential Proclamation 1895 was issued declaring the commemoration of the Filipino Family Day every 4th Monday of September. Coincidentally, National FaMEALy Day coincides with the first day of DSWD's National Family Week.

This year's National FaMEALy Day will be on September 26, 2011. Mark your calendars now and pledge to eat dinner with the family!

Mark your calendars now and pledge to eat dinner with the family!

For generations, the family meal has been an essential human ritual. This is the time when members of the family sit around the same table, eat the same food and listen to one another. It is a sad fact that many Filipino families are now taking mealtimes for granted. All kinds of social, economic, and technological factors contributed to the decline in the frequency of family dining. With both parents working, longer commutes, and the children shuttling between school and after-school activities like sports or choir practices or attached to their screens or phones at home, family members have to eat at their own time, with no routine, with no rules.

What parents do not realize is the importance of their presence at the dinner table, that spending time with their children during mealtimes can affect the rest of their lives.

How To Enable Facebook Timeline Right This Second

via [Greg Kumparak @techcrunch]

This morning Facebook announced Timeline, a crazy (and kind of creepy) omnibus look at everything that has ever happened in your Facebook lifespan. It’s like a story book of your life — or at least the online, documented parts.

Facebook said that Timeline would be on the way for everyone sometime in the coming weeks… which is great and all, for everyone else. You’re the type of person who reads TechCrunch, and are thus likely the type of person who likes their new and shiny things right now.

That’s okay. We can make it happen.

Fortunately, enabling Timeline a bit early isn’t too difficult — but it’s not at all straight forward, either.

You see, Facebook is enabling Timeline early for open graph developers. You, too, can be an open graph developer — even if you’re just looking to dabble.

A few things to note:
- You probably don’t want to do this unless you’re actually a developer. Expect bugs.

- Only you will see your timeline at first (unless you decide otherwise), but it will automatically go public after a few days. My timeline was automatically hard-set to go public on September 29th.

- It seems that if you login into Facebook on another machine, Timeline gets disabled automatically on all of your machines. With that said, it seems you can get back to your timeline (but ONLY after following the steps below) by navigating to http://www.facebook.com/YOURUSERNAMEHERE?sk=timeline

- You’ll need to have a “verified” account for one of the steps, which means you need a credit card or phone number attached to the account.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Log into Facebook

2. Enable developer mode, if you haven’t already. To do this, type “developer” into the Facebook search box, click the first result (it should be an app made by Facebook with a few hundred thousand users), and add the app.

3. Jump into the developer app (if Facebook doesn’t put you there automatically, it should be in your left-hand tool bar)

4. Create a new app (don’t worry — you wont actually be submitting this for anyone else to see/use). Give your shiny new app any display name and namespace you see fit. Read through and agree to the Platform Privacy agreement. This is the step you need to be verified for.

5. Ensure you’re in your new app’s main settings screen. You should see your app’s name near the top of the page

6. Look for the “Open Graph” header, and click the “Get Started using open graph” link.

Create a test action for your app, like “read” a “book”, or “eat” a “sandwich”

7. This should drop you into an action type configuration page. Change a few of the default settings (I changed the past tense of “read” to “redd” — again, only you can see this unless you try and submit your application to the public directory), and click through all three pages of settings

8. Wait 2-3 minutes

9. Go back to your Facebook homescreen. An invite to try Timeline should be waiting at the top of the page

And you’re done! We’ve seen this work quite a few times now, so it should work without a hitch for just about anyone.

MISS UKRAINE
Amelia Vega: If you could trade lives with anyone in history, who whould it be and why?
Miss Ukraine: I simply live my life and I’m very satisfied with it. But if I did have the chance to trade positions with someone I think I would choose Cleopatra. I think she is a very powerful and strong woman who is very much worthy of respect. And I think a woman could also be a leader like Cleopatra.

MISS PHILIPPINES
Vivica Fox: Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love? Why and why not?
Miss Philippines: If I had to change my religious beliefs, I will not marry the person that I love because the first person that I love is God, who created me. And I have my faith, my principles, and this is what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God too.

MISS CHINA
Isabeli Fontana: Nude beaches are common in some parts of the world. Is public nudity appropriate or inappropriate and why?
Miss China: Every country has its rules and regulations and every country has their own habbits as well. We should respect them and be more understanding.

MISS BRAZIL
Helio Castroneves: What would you do to avoid fighting a war that you did not agree with it?
Miss Brazil: First of all I would explain to people that the premiere quality of human being is respect. And more war is not based on respect. It’s always based on misunderstanding, it’s always based on a lack of education. So I would tell this person that we should respect each other as human beings.

MISS ANGOLA
Lea Salonga: If you could change one of your physical characteristics, which one would it be and why?
Miss Angola: Thank God I’m very well satisfied with the way that God created me and I wouldn’t change a thing. I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty, I have my principles, I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I plan to follow these through the rest of my life and now I want to give all of you a piece of advice: Respect one another.

Facts About the Sabbath

I am a Sabbath keeper for more than 20 years and believed that Seventh Day of the Week is the Real Sabbath, the Day of Worship and the Day of Rest for as stated in the Bible "God blessed the Seventh Day and make it Holy" (Genesis 2:3), but does this thoughts enough to considered it as the real Sabbath?

To answers my questions and further clarifications - I keep on reading the Bible, listening to the debate, join into the church lessons and discussions and further search in the world-wide-web, things and thoughts about "Sabbath".
Below are some great resources all about Sabbath. (I'll keep posting to this page useful and relevant  information about Sabbath and the Seventh Day Adventists).

Sabbath Is a Day of Rest and Worship
Some call it a “park in time.” Imagine having a day every week to avoid work and to-do lists and household chores without any guilt! A day to spend with your family and friends, or out in nature, or doing something nice for someone else. Sound like a luxury? It’s not; in fact, God designed a weekly holiday and built it into our very nature at Creation.

Which Day of the Week?
Despite doctrinal differences on various other topics, most Christians agree that a day of rest is an integral part of the Christian life. But on which day are we to rest? “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

Why do so many people worship on Sunday?
One of the czars of Russia, walking in his park one day, came upon a sentry standing before a patch of weeds. The czar asked him what he was doing there. The sentry did not know. All he could say was that he had been ordered to his post of duty by the captain of the guard. The czar then sent his aid to ask the captain of the guard. But the captain could only say that the regulations had called for a sentry at that particular spot. His curiosity had been aroused. The czar ordered an investigation. But no living man at the court could remember the time when there had not been a sentry at that post, and none could say why he was there, or what he was guarding.  Read more...

Sabbath Observance Honors the Creator
The observance of the Sabbath sets forth the observer's belief that God did create the world according to the claims stated in the Sabbath commandment. The importance of the observance of the Sabbath is more clearly and forcibly understood as we continue to search the Scriptures and find that the fact of God's ability to create, as opposed to the inability of other gods to create, is the distinguishing attribute of the true God.  Read more...

When Does It Start?
When does the Sabbath start? That may seem like a no-brainer, but from Creation through Bible times, the days did not begin and end at midnight as they do today. Genesis 1:5 says, “…The evening and the morning were the first day.” A day began when the preceding day closed, at sunset. The dark part of the day came first, then the light part. Read more...

The Blessings of the Sabbath
Since the law is spiritual, there is no escaping the fact that the holy Sabbath is a spiritual institution. It was a day of "holy convocation" (Leviticus 23:3). The joyful quality of the day is expressed by David in Psalm 42:4; "When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, which a multitude that kept holyday." Read more...

The Sabbath In Prophecy

Almost the whole Christian world reverences Sunday, did God know that this attempt to change His holy Sabbath would occur?

"And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. " Daniel 7:25

"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them." Acts 20:28-30

Yes, long ago God predicted that, from within the church itself, misguided men would arise who would attempt to change His holy law.

Who is responsible for all of the confusion regarding the Sabbath?

In the Bible's prophetic book of Daniel, God lists many identifying characteristics of the little horn who would 'think to change' God's law. The Bible's identifying points clearly implicate the Roman Catholic church as this organization. Infact, you can even find the answer to this question by looking at the many statements made by the church and its leadership.

“The Catholic Church designated Sunday as the day for corporate worship and gets full credit – or blame – for the change.” This Rock, The Magazine of Catholic Apologetics and Evangelization, p.8, June 1997

"The Church, on the other hand, after changing the day of rest from the Jewish Sabbath, or seventh day of the week, to the first, made the Third Commandment refer to Sunday as the day to be kept holy as the Lord's Day." The Catholic Encyclopedia,

'Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act. And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.' C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, in answer to a letter regarding the change of the Sabbath, November 11, 1895.

Is it important to keep the true Sabbath?

The 3 Angels Messages, God's Final Warning Messages to the EarthYes it is. In God's final warning messages to the world we find a call to worship the Creator. "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven... Saying with a loud voice Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." Revelation 14:6-7

The call to worship in Revelation 14:7 brings us back to the Sabbath Commandment which God set aside specifically for holy purposes: "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11

Throughout the scriptures we can see an emphasis on the recognition of the Creator. "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Revelation 4:11

"For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens." Psalms 96:4-5

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth." Psalms 121:2

By keeping the Sabbath holy, as He commanded us, we show our love for Him and give recognition of His authority in our life. "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." 1 John 5:1

Does it matter how we worship God?

Yes. In John chapter 4 the woman at the well asked Jesus the same question. Jesus responded: "the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4:23-24

God issues a strong warning in Revelation 14:7 clarifiying that we should "worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." This strong warning is needed because the devil has deceived almost the entire world into accepting his substitute and thus multitudes worship or obey him rather than the Creator. "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" Revelation 13:3-4

Can we know for sure who this beast is and is it really all that important?

Yes, we can, and must know who this beast is.

"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:" Revelation 14:9-10 The Bible clearly says that those who worship the beast will be lost.

In the light of this most serious and solemn warning from God we must not listen to anyone who tells us that we can't understand who the beast is or that it really doesn't matter. (See 2 Timothy 4:3-4, 2 Corinthians 11:14-15)

By letting the Bible interpret itself, comparing scripture with scripture, we can know exactly who the beast is. (James 1:5, Isaiah 28:10-13) If you haven't done so already we suggest you review the points describing the little horn found in Daniel 7 and then let the Bible identify the first beast of Revelation 13.

The Battle is Over Worship!

"Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" Romans 6:16
