It was mid-November last year facebook announce the new evolution on their messaging platform.
Facebook haven't yet rolling out this features to everyone but you can request to enable or upgrade your facebook messaging. All you need to do is to visit facebook.com/about/messages and click on the "Request an Invitation" button.
(You will have to wait until facebook messaging is updated)
